Snowmass Village Shuttle: Cutting carbon by improving ridership

 Challenge

The Snowmass Village Shuttle lowers traffic congestion and cuts transportation-related carbon emissions in the ski resort town. Yet ridership was dropping and the town’s tight budget prohibited many of the solutions that larger metropolitan bus systems could implement.

A user-guided solution

Survey data revealed an information gap being a key barrier to ridership. We designed an online system that facilitated route and finding and relayed real-time alerts.
